Pocket Forests is transforming urban spaces—gardens, schools, universities, and shared environments—into thriving ecosystems. Founded by Catherine Cleary and Ashe Conrad-Jones, the initiative draws inspiration from the Tiny Forest concept and employs the Miyawaki method, a technique pioneered by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki, to rapidly grow native forests.

These booklets, designed as part of Pocket Forests’ Tree Pack, serve as a hands-on guide for anyone looking to cultivate their own urban forest. Illustrated by Enagh Farrell, the guides provide essential steps for nurturing native trees and shrubs, empowering communities to bring nature back into the heart of the city.

We used recycled paper to ensure the booklets were as environmentally-friendly as posisble. Illustrator Enagh Farrell created detailed botanical drawings to accompany the text so that readers could identify the trees and flowers in their urban spaces.
